US stock market has dominated global investing landscape
US stock market capitalization surpassed $60 trillion for the first time
US stock market value hit over $60 trillion, a new record. Over the last 4 years, the size of the world’s largest market has doubled.
In consequence, the US stock market is now nearly twice larger than Asian and European markets combined.
This comes as US stocks have massively outperformed other markets over the last 10 years. The Euro Stoxx 600 index has returned only 3% this year versus the S&P 500 gain of 21%.
The Euro Stoxx 600 index is on track for the 8th year of underperformance out of the last 10. Over the last decade, European equities have increased by only 50%, much less than the S&P 500 return of 187%.
